Al BrownBROWN: Alvin Ernest “Al” – passed away peacefully following a courageous struggle with C.O.P.D., on November 27, 2014 at the Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll, Al Brown of Woodstock and formerly of Drumbo in his 80th year.

Beloved husband of Marjorie (nee Palin) whom he married October 8, 1960. Dear father of Sue & husband Rory Worboys of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Dan of Baden and Jeff & wife Christine of Red Lake. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Stephanie, Greg & Dianna, Kirk& Angie, Hailey & Shane and great grandchildren Palin and Cooper. Survived by his brothers and sisters Wilbert & Margaret Brown, Walter Brown, Leslie & Reta Brown, Iona Budd, Jessie Johnson, Joan Sheil, Gladys & Ed Wright, Dorothy & Cy Finerty, Reta Whitstock and sister-in-law Linda Brown,

Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Pamela (2014), brothers Orville, Leonard & John Brown, sister Florence Brown, brothers-in-law Elmer Budd, Neil Johnson, Keith Sheil.

Al was a 20 year member of the Drumbo Lions Club.

Relatives & friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Al at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William Street, Plattsville on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 11:00am.  No flowers please, rather please consider donations to the Lung Association or the Lions Service Dog Program (cheques accepted) and would be appreciated by the family.

Loving mother of Dale & Darla of Plattsville and Dean of R. R. #1 Bright. Cherished Grandma of Abby and Tess. Survived by her brothers Garry Fulton & wife Mary of Woodstock, Gerald Fulton & wife Leona of Dewberry, Alberta and by sister Margaret (Peg) Klemp of Palmerston. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Gail, Joan, Joyce, Chris, and Margie Fulton.  Predeceased by her brothers Elgin, Laverne, Bob, Walter, Earl and Wayne Fulton and by sisters Marion Hubbard & husband George, Mona Fulton and Myrtle & husband Earl Schweitzer.   Muriel & Don operated Pettigrew’s Garage in Plattsville since 1980.  Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Muriel’s Life at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville on Saturday November 22, 2014 from 1-4p.m.   Interment later in Ratho Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations to the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

roseNEWBY: Phyllis Bernice (Barclay)– passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday November 16, 2014 at the Hospice Wellington, Guelph Ontario, Phyllis Newby of Cambridge in her 80th year.  Wife of the late Donald Newby who predeceased her December 16, 2010.  Mother of Dianne and husband Terry Thomas of Cambridge, Steve & wife Carol of Moose Creek, Ken and wife Kim of Ottawa and Sue and husband Jim Pearson of Baden. Sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.  A private family graveside service will be conducted at the Innerkip Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice Wellington, 795 Scottsdale Dr., Guelph, ON N1G 3R8 would be appreciated by the family. Missed by her granddaughter Taylor. Dear sister of Shirley & husband Gil Johnson of New Hamburg, Marjorie Schmitt of Kitchener, Robert Ellis of Ayr and sister-in-law of Sally Ellis of Plattsville.    Predeceased by her parents Lorne & Ruth (Ingold) Ellis, by brothers Donald & George Ellis, sister Marion & husband Clayton Springer, brothers-in-law Earl Habel and Joe Schmitt and sister-in-law Dale Ellis.  Relatives & friends may call at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William Street, Plattsville on Thursday from 7-9pm.
