POLL: Rebecca Cathleen

Rebecca PollPoll: Rebecca Cathleen – For you have been called to live in freedom…use your freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:1

Rebecca Cathleen Poll peacefully left her earthly home surrounded by her loving parents Reg and Cathy Poll, and siblings Adam Poll & Kari Hueber and Sarah & Corey Hakkers on Wednesday March 2, 2016 in London, ON. She will be dearly missed by her grandparents Shirley and Gil Johnston and Elmer and Shirley Poll and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rebecca has left us all too soon, yet in her brief 33 years of life she managed to touch so many people through her genuine love for others, her passion for rich conversations, her endless desire to travel and enjoy music, and her love for cooking and enjoying good food and drink.  Rebecca lived to serve others in love and she did this effortlessly by connecting with others genuinely whether they were family, friends, colleagues at work, fellow travelers, or neighbours. Rebecca’s joy was contagious and her heart for helping and serving came from her deep faith and her desire to follow Jesus’ example. Our hearts are saddened as she will be dearly missed by so many, but we know she is in her heavenly home with her Grandpa Habel.

A celebration of Rebecca’s life will be held on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 11a.m. at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church 1531 Bridge St. New Dundee, ON. There will be no visitation prior to the service, but rather time to connect with others at the celebration following the service. Rather than flowers, Rebecca’s wishes were that donations be made to the MCC-Refugee Fund.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville, ON.

The family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff at Victoria Hospital in London, ON who came alongside Rebecca during this time and treated her with genuine kindness and dignity.
