Bob GlendinningGlendinning: Robert Douglas – passed away suddenly but peacefully at his residence on Monday June 13, 2016.  Bob Glendinning of Plattsville in his 77th year.

Beloved husband of Doris (nee Bell) whom he married August 11, 1962.  Dear father of Jeffrey & his wife Michelle, Dan & his wife Julie all of Plattsville and Donald & his wife Tamieka of Melbourne, Australia.  He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Alisha, Emily, Jessica, Ian, Charlotte and Isobelle. Remembered by his brother Bill & friend Marnie of Waterloo and Jane Anne & husband Jim Thomson of Plattsville, and by his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Alex & Dorothy (Forbes) Glendinning, son Thomas, brother Donald, sister-in-law Karen Glendinning and niece Jennifer Tessari.

Bob was very active in the Plattsville area having been involved with the Plattsville Arena Board and Minor Hockey, Plattsville Curling Club where he was the ice maker for many years, the Plattsville Fire Department.  He operated and retired from R. Glendinning Construction and previous to that Fulton & Glendinning Construction and he was a member of the Peace United Church, Plattsville. Bob was an avid collector of tools of his trade.  He “worked” many long hours in his shop after retirement, producing many items for family and friends most notably his bowls.

Relatives & friends are invited to visit at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.  Funeral Service will be conducted at the Peace United Church, Plattsville on Friday June 17, 2016 at 1:00pm.  Pastor Barb Dawson officiating.  Interment in Chesterfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Foundation or to Peace United Church (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

 

WELDRICK: Frederick Berwick

Fred weldrickWELDRICK: Frederick Berwick – passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at his home at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock,  Fred Weldrick formerly of RR#1 Tavistock in his 97th year.

Beloved husband of Dorothy (Wiley) Weldrick for 67 years.  Lovingly remembered father of Anne & husband Evan Merritt of Toronto and Bruce & wife Sharon of RR#1 Tavistock.  Cherished grandpa of Bryan & Jenn, Daniel & Andrea, and funny great grandpa of Connor, Kyla and Rylee.

Fred, the son of the late Lorne and Flossie Weldrick, was born in Vaughan Township.  Predeceased by his great granddaughter Gabriella and his  siblings, Georgina, Mildred (Vic), Mel (Mary) and Audrey (Stew).

Fred and Dorothy farmed in King Township from 1954 to 1972 prior to moving to their farm on the 16th line of East Zorra Township.  Fred was passionate about Dorothy, Clydesdales and farming.

Relatives & friends may call at the Hebron United Church, 676241 16th Line (at Cty.  Rd. 8), Bright on Saturday June 11, 2016 from 10:30 until 11:45am.  A Celebration of Fred’s life will take place at 12 noon.  Interment in EUB Cemetery, 17th line and Cassel Sideroad.  A reception at the church will follow the interment service.
