BAIN: Marilyn Jean (nee Nurse)

Marilyn Jean BainBAIN: Marilyn Jean (nee Nurse) – passed away suddenly on Friday April 22, 2016 in her 82nd year with her beloved family by her side.  Wife of the late William Bain who predeceased her on January 2, 1999.  She is survived by her wonderful sons, Steve & his wife Gail of Georgetown, David & his partner Susan of Kitchener and her treasured grandchildren, Shannon and Matthew.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pat Nurse of Grosse Point, Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her much loved parents, Dr. and Mrs. Harold Nurse, five brothers, Dr. Grey Nurse, Dr. Howard Nurse, Colonel Roy Nurse, Gordon Nurse (age7) and Don Nurse.

Marilyn was a long time resident of Plattsville. She worked at the University of Guelph, Boucher & Jones Fuels, Murrays in New Hamburg and Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home.

She loved history and was the family historian. Marilyn loved animals and many knew her basset and best friend “Fred”.  She truly loved spending time with her precious grandchildren and attending many special functions with them.

Visitation will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, (519-749-8467) on Thursday April 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday April 29, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. with the service to take place in the funeral home chapel at 1:00p.m.  Interment will take place at a later date in Palmerston.

STOTT: Lena Loreen (Duncan)

Lena StottSTOTT: Lena Loreen (Duncan) – passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home Woodstock on Friday April 22, 2016 Lena Stott formerly of Drumbo in her 88th year.   Beloved wife of the late John Stott who predeceased her on June 8th, 1994.  Loving mother of Ruth & husband John Griffith of Toronto, Jane & husband Doug Andrews, Joan Anderson all of Woodstock, Edith & husband Mike Prairo of Calgary, Edward & wife Gwen of Drumbo and Mary Anne & husband Bob Barnett of Waterford.  She will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Survived by her brothers Don Duncan & his wife Wilma of Drumbo, Ben Duncan  (late Louise) of Calgary and by her sisters Blanche & her husband Roy Milton of Princeton, Eva & her husband Reid Hofstetter of Kitchener.

Predeceased by her brothers Jim Duncan & his wife Diana and Billy Duncan and by her sister Elsie & her husband Murney Aspden .

Relatives & friends may call at the Drumbo Agricultural Hall, 42 Centre St. Drumbo on Sunday May 1, 2016 for a Memorial Service at 2:00p.m. followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments.

VINCENT: Rita Marie (Jackie)

Rita VincentVINCENT: Rita Marie (Jackie)-passed away  peacefully  at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener on April, 20th, 2016 at the age of 90.

Jackie was predeceased by her husband Roger R. Vincent and her second husband Anthony Gow and by her brothers Peter, Jim (Pat), George (Cathy) and sisters Betty (Lester), Lucille (Jim), and Margaret (Denis).

Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her sister Marcelle, her sons Robert Vincent (Joan) and Ronald Vincent (Kenna); her daughters Rosanne Massano (Victor) and Rosalyn Parsons (Anthony), and The Gow side of the family. She will be missed by grandchildren, Becky, David, Roger, Douglas, Melissa, Michelle and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Aylan, Rowyn, Myles, Abigail, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Jackie lived a full life. She loved being surrounded by family and she was always there for others. She was an avid gardener both at home and at the family cottage. Her sense of fashion and home decor made many a retailer happy. Florida was her winter escape.  Jackie was a resident of Winston Park Retirement Home the last few years.  The nurses, staff, and volunteers and the other residents were wonderful to her. They were “her extended family”.

A very special thank you to St. Mary’s Hospital, the Heart Function Clinic, The Palliative Care Unit, CCAC and The Village of Winston Park.   In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 305 Laurentian Dr. in Kitchener , on Friday April 29, 2016 at 11am. KOEBEL: Gary Frank

roseKOEBEL: Gary Frank – passed away peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday April 20, 2016.  Gary Koebel of Bright in his 73rd year.

Beloved husband of Ruth Anne (Riddell) whom he married July 22, 1966. Loving father of  Cheryl & her husband Paul James of Princeton.  He is survived by his bother-in-law Vic Feeney of Rummelhardt.  He will be remembered by the Riddell Family.

Predeceased by his son David (Flip) Koebel in 1999, his brothers Bruce, Ken & his wife Phyllis and sister Rita Feeney.

At Gary’s request all arrangements will remain private. Interment will take place later in the Chesterfield Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday May 14, 2016 at the Woodstock Navy Club, 23 Wellington Street, North, Woodstock,  from 1-4 p.m.
