SCHIEDroseEL: Shawn Derek Harold – passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday April 16, 2014 while visiting in Edmonton. Shawn Schiedel of Hamilton and formerly of RR#1 Bright in his 44th year.

Survived by Parents – Don & Marg Schiedel of RR#1 Bright, Brother – Mike & wife Jessica of New Dundee, Sisters – Melanie & husband Steve Paterson of Plattsville, Megan of Tavistock, Christina of Bright, Amber of Woodstock and Angela of London, Nephews – Mike and James Schiedel, Jacob and Joshua Paterson.   Remembered by his great aunt, Agnes Reist as well as uncles, aunts,  cousins and friends.

Funeral Arrangements will remain private and have been entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St. Plattsville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the K-W Humane Society or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

roseSTAUFFER: Daniel Gordon “Dan the Man” – passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Dan Stauffer of Ayr and formerly of Plattsville in his 83rd year.

Dear father of Laurie & husband John Daly of New York, Danny & wife Donna of New Hamburg, Tim & wife Kathy of Ayr and Elizabeth (Liz) and husband Joe Mineo of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Brittany & Davian, Zack, Brandon, Kristen, Ben, Maddy, Alex, Joey, and by his great grandchildren Nevaeh and Leniah. Survived by his sister Helen Stauffer of Thornhill and also by Catharine Stauffer of Owen Sound.

Predeceased by his parents Daniel E. Stauffer and Effie Kaufman and by his sister Dr. Ruth Stauffer-Buckley.

Relatives & friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday April 19, 2014 at the Peace United Church, Plattsville at 11:00a.m. Pastor Barb Dawson officiating. Interment of Ashes later in Chesterfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace United Church or the Canadian Diabetic Association (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville.

LAUBER: Edna Bertha

Edna LauberLAUBER: Edna Bertha – Our mom passed away peacefully at her home on April 11, 2014 in her 95th year.

Born on the family farm near Breslau, the youngest daughter of Anna Catherine Schultzke and Solomon Gole. Beloved wife of the late Wilfrid Lauber (1956). Loving mother of Rebecca Gingrich; Heather & Don Patterson; Lyndon & Linda Lauber; Penelope & Keith Hubbard and Jocelyn Lauber. Always remembered by foster son Victor Cooper.

Predeceased by her siblings: Erma Thomas-Stankiewicz; Adeline & Frank Gollinger; Eileen & George Robinson; George & violet Gole; Douglas & Nancy Gole; brother-in-law Gerald & Olga Lauber; sister-in-law Reta & Lorne Schmalz and her eldest grandson Andrew Kenyon.

For many years Edna worked in the bakeshop at Wilfrid Laurier University which suited her sweet tooth perfectly. After retirement her home was filled with her beloved pets, flowers, quilting, knitting, family and church.

As she requested, cremation has taken place with a private family celebration of her life planned for a later date. Interment at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener.

Special thanks to Dr. Henry Vlaar and his staff, the many Red Cross Personnel Support Workers, as well as the nurses from St. Elizabeth, who made it possible for Mom to remain in her home.
